Booo

Went to the gym today cause we had LTA trip ytd.
=/ I am so weakkkkkkkkkkkk. Hur. (N)
I think my shoulder is starting to die. Haha.
Anw wth there's geog mass lecture next wed! Last pool slot till after exams leh :'(
Haha Cheryl is super hiong, gym for 2 days in a row! (Y)

Hm anyway the 'roommates next year' went to dinner together ytd :D

Ermm. Monday.. Pt. -_- All thanks to static I got abrasion on my right arm. It looks like i fell down and injured myself or wad la. Diaoz.

Ooh anw the 'game' that jazlene described sounds quite ok? Can try out next time ba. Haha:)

Oh anw jackson, we dont have any scheduleeee.
Our pool slots are not really fixed. Last two slots next week then break till around 2nd till of nov? :S :(

HEY ALL,
im starving, so ill make this quick

uh, today i went gym and it was SUPER FUN, okay, mostly agility stuff (instead of weights, we somehow managed to convince the trainer)
SO, ANYWAY, i wont talk about agil (unless youre interested)

ok so we did this human chain thing at the end,
like, pushup position, then the 2nd person legs over the 1st person's legs, 3rd person's legs over 2nd person's legs (ALL weight on it) etcetc etc and after everyone is in position, start timing, and its VERY FUN, ahhaha pain but FUN see how long you can last, cause if one person drops, everyone else drops :D FUNFUNFUN, builds team spirit too!!! :)


SO, WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY IS, LETS DO THIS NEXT TIME!!!!!!!1

Are we going to have trainings after exams? Mag and I will have plenty of free time after (our) exams!!! But I think that's when YOUR exams start which kinda sucks. I'm sorry I haven't been going down for training coz ARP + Exchange + Early exams clashing with everything together ):

Sian I dun feel like going gym coz my arms seriously aching n i wan go pool. I need an excuse.

HI. :)

what am i supposed to post??? and uhhhh PT was super boring???? =.=
one thing i dont get is why we cant run during square drill??? like, its not like on the boat we very very slow then get the ball or smth right????
and i can dont go for gym, right??? not like i really want pon but i alr have my own gym program and this thing might ruin it!!!! (like currently mine is weight gain and idk how this will affect it so :X) and i got fitness test so must rest rightrightright????? heheheh.
uhhhhh i think thats all?? but i think doing pullups (well for the guys) is pretty dumb cause, well, its kinda a different set of muscles... (some same but whatever)

OH YES, i find my sailing pt fun, my coach runs with us, does all the exercises with us and all that, you know, lead by example. I THINK OUR SCHOOL SHOULD DO THE SAME :)
oh, one more thing my coach does is TREAT US. like run to some place then treat us, yeah, i think our school should do the same tooo! :)

Went for land training today! Er i dieded very badly.. ): Super long never train liaoz. Sian.
Actually we didnt do a lot today.
2 rounds of warm up, 2 sets of 30 pushups, 30 crunches, 1min legraise, 1min bridge each side.
Did ball passing and cross passing.
Then played end zone captain ball or something. Haha. Super fun :D

Anywayyyy, i think PT like a bit borrrring. Any ideas on how to spice it upppppp? :D

FINALLY ANOTHER POST.

LOL. Couldn't make it for ANY trainings till yesterday cos i went for night slot. This sucks because WHENEVER i can make it for the normal training slots (those with coach), SOMEONE will be on MC and it will be CANCELLED.

So i am PISSED because i'm so deprived of normal trainings. RAWR :@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ why cant the teachers drink more water and stop falling sick -.-

Okay nvm. Thats not the point LOL.

Anyway,

as what weitieng said, there were the 5 of us in the baby pool last night. i did stern turns and stern turns and more stern turns. Actually i'm quite happy because i FINALLY can do stern turn le. Just need to keep on practicing so that the stern turn will be perfect and need to be CONSISTENT. And hopefully i can turn faster and the stern can go deeper by the time exam starts.

Tried dips but failed very badly. Nvm. Must master stern turns first. Hopefully i can go for more pool slots after CO concert (TOMORROW). LOL. And hopefully the teachers stop cancelling the pool slotzzzzzzz.

btw i feel very sad cos i was trying to do pull ups and was progressing quite well until i stopped like two weeks ago cos CO rehearsals were draining all my energy. AND GUESS WHAT. I cant do any shit now ): i'm just dangling on the bar looking at my cat and dog beneath me D: RAWR. ):

Super late post again

Wanted to post since last week but didn't cause i suck hahaha.

Uhhh. We had ONE POOL SLOT LAST WEEK.
.. Basically for weehong to access us? If I rmb correctly, there was me, karyee, jazlene and cheryl (for the girls). We played attack against the guys.. Oh that day I kept anyhow whacking the ball :/ 99% hit the frame or went out. Weehong says that Jazlene has the eagerness to win which can be seen by her eagerness to get the ball in by shooting? Ok (Y). I'm not sure how long can Jazlene continue to come for training.. :S What will happen when sailing season starts? Cause if she comes for training regularly like what she's doing now, we can have one more good player..

K. Then LAST THURS' POOL WAS CANCELED. Cause Mr Sim was on mc. .. wasted pool slot. Hmphs. So we had land on friday. No running except for warm ups. Then the usual pullups (no inclines!) and pt + static. Died badly. Muscles ached till monday loll.

We had ONE POOL SLOT THIS WEEK. BECAUSE YTD'S SLOT WAS CANCELED as Ms lim was on mc. WTH?!?!! -_- We did sprinting....... My stamina sucks. After 100m = died. Anw Wee Hong says we are to do quality laps, not quantity. Cause no point doing 123456789 laps if you purposely do it slowly. So we should put in more effort and do properly and when he sees that everyone is doing that the we won't have to do so many laps. And. For sprinting, we should put make sure that we're paddling with the whole paddle blade pulling the water, as in it should be fully submerged. Hm.

Then moving circle passing? ..........
#1: Keep moving, don't stare at the ppl catching/passing the ball and stone there!!! And some effort should be put in the reduce the gap between you and the person in front. .. Actually this suggestion is for the freshies. -_-
#2: Since you have nothing to do other than keep moving, try to look at where the ball is so that you are ready to recieve the ball
#3: Hand to hand passes
#4: If you didn't catch the ball pls have a sense of urgency and get it quickly. Or if it ends up closer to someone else eg. the person behind, the person should be nice and help to pick the ball.
#5: If you're the one starting the ball after the ball is lost, pass off quickly. Don't have to get into the circle before passing off, just pass the ball in first so the exercise can continue. Then you join back in.
#6: If the person in front is fumblign with the ball/having some problems with moving forward/stoning there pls feel free to overtake him/her to close up the gap and let the ppl behind have more space to move.

Ball passing.. High balls, fast balls, normal balls. Trick to high balls = use your wrist more + release slower. If you swing your whole arm down = the ball goes down? And look at the person you're passing to, not at the ball. This will increase accuracy.

Shooting. There are many different ways of shooting.
One is just the normal straightforward shot. (Y) because the ball can go faster and allow less reaction time for keeper. (N) as it's er straightforward, easier to block, no element of surprise?
Then there's the one where you use your body and swinging your arm back. (Y) as there is wider angle for shooter, the keeper needs to guess where you might be shooting. But (N) as it's slower + the movement is so big and obvious to the keeper. Then underhand shots.. Er basically that's how wee chye shoots. To be taught to us I think.
So when you are shooting, it is best to have a variety of ways to shoot so that the keeper won't be so sure of where you're gonna shoot? So for example if you keep shooting high balls and you realise they're all being blocked, you should try a fast ball. Anw we're supposed to train up our fast ballz. :S

Keeping.......... MAG YOU BETTER FASTER COME BACK IF NOT I BECOME KEEPER LIAO T_T -_- Anw main thing for keeper to possess is confidence. If i rmb correctly :O Dunno la. Then need some boat control la duh. Err. And height naturally gives an advantage. Nothing much here.

Er I guess there's nothing else from weehong? Yea I have quite a poor memory.

K so we went to night slot last night as the usual one was wasted !@#$%^&*. We being me, jy, ky, gene, stan, stuart. Erm we did stern turns. I am quite emo because my stern turn cannot reach what's the best I can do. The first or 2nd night when we were doing stern turns, my bow went over the ball leh .. Now my stern cannot go sp deep liao ie my bow cannot come up so high. :( Guess we all need to practice stern turn more so we can do it consistently. And I need to start learning the left side stern turn cause now it's at level -123456789. So for stern turns, things to note include:
-Extending your arm till the stern of the boat at the beginning + keeping your arm straight and extended till you complete sweeping in the shape of a semi circle.
-Bring the feet to the paddle not the other way round
-Lean back a bit/shift your weight to your butt (stuart say one)
-Don't have to paddle one whole lap before you do a stern turn, just a short distance but with more effort (go faster/more agressive/ANGRY!-quoted from stanley) and do the stern turn. Don't wait for your point to drift before slowly extending you paddle.
-Then after you can do the stern turn, you can try using more strength so the stern will go deeper? and you'll complete the stern turn faster.

And we tried dips. Failss. Then..? Passing. And the 'hitting the water with your paddle' thingy which i would like to master hahahaah >:D im lame.

k. land training tmr! asked stanley for runnign cause we havent ran for a while..

Hmm. Anw I'm glad that ppl are taking the effort to come down for training. Jazlene never reaches before 4pm de. But she still comes down. Don't really know the reason though. But that's a good thing :) And I also appreciate ppl coming down for the night slots esp since they're not compulsory. And of course thanks to stan and stuart who were 'coaching' us instead of their own team mates. Haha.

Hope everyone will get to train together as much as possible and improve as a team :D

Btw, Cheryl, Mag and Mariel, if you're planning to go overseas/cant go for trg due to other reasons during the hol, can you give me the dates? Need to plan the hol trg schedule.. Thanks!

Uh uh and we still need to find some way to pass the stuff we bought from kiddy palace to the 2 kiddos. hurrhurr.

trainings

Hurhur sorry for the super overdue post. I think I have a sad life, not much time to chill T_T

Hm. Night training was like what the others said? Lol it is very sad how the guys only need to do one stroke to match a few of ours -.- K anw I dunno how to bring the ball up + I am too slow + I cannot stern turn + + + + haha. :(

.. No official pool slot for 2 weeks (N)

Had land training on thurs and fri, didnt do much on thurs though cause yr 4s went late. But then my abs were hurting on friday -_- Maybe cause of the static exercise? Had gym ytd (fri), did the usual stations + medicine ball.

Oh and HAPPY BELATED B'DAY TO JACKSON!


And for those of you who weren't there, there's no pool slot during sept hols. The next one should be on the 1st day of school if I rmb correctly, anw Mr Sim has encouraged us to organise land trainings/outings during the holiday and to inform him if we do go for training as he needs to account to our parents??? o_O

Night training 31/8/2010

Night training was damn good. We did stern turns and ball shielding.

Stern turns.. i thinking of how to make my feet touch the foot rest so that it's easier to do stern turn. But i think when sprinting its easier to turn? Hmm maybe cos got momentum. But its still very fail la. Nvm. Next time try harderrrr.

Ball shielding. Thankyou stanley and geneee :D I think we all understood ball shielding better, or at least me la. Haha. Last time was anyhow whack one. Now its like. Okay.
- Always start by moving forward so that will have some forward momentum and gain a bit of distance.
- Must turn early. Stern turn is (Y).
- Turn one round and go to open space.
- Dribble forward whenever you can. No need to be so conservative.
- When you stern turn, you're always one stroke faster than your opponent, so can try to move up as much as possible.

Hmm. i think thats all that i can remember. LOL. Hopefully can put them into practice next time. Theory is one thing and doing it is another.

One week nvr go training le, If dun go yesterday i will like super long dun need go le. Stupid CO. Yesterday stern turn stern turn, still fail): Sian I will take forever to learn proper stern turn....): Then ball shielding, even more fail. Everytime Stanley come I will just think of turning, nvr go think of doing stern turn coz panicking): N must learn to dribble the ball forward and dun lose the ball but zzz keep panicking. Must learn to relax): Then lifeguard came say 5 more mins so do sprinting, sprinting then stern turn also fail): So generally, yesterday's training got learn quite a lot like in ball shielding but I still fail):

Night Training 31082010

Another night training session! Really awesome time to brush up on skills.

Today we all practised stern turns, I think I'm more confident already but still my turn is not as complete and smooth and successful as I'd like it to be. And I tried doing the other side once, EPIC FAIL.

Meanwhile Gene and Stanley (THANKS GUYS!) also helped us with ball shielding. I realised I'm really afraid of people hand-tackling me. I think it's because I don't like feeling wet+my specs will shift when there's a current and the lenses will fog up. Annoying. I will try to shield better by doing stern turn earlier so that we can change direction and face the free space instead of being pushed to a corner when turning around slowly or aimlessly, placing the ball behind my arm before doing the turn to keep possession, and SPRINT HARD WHEN THERE'S AN OPENING. Gosh that would save everyone like three million kJ of energy or something. Must work on it!
